    Busy night, but we snatched a couple of seats at the bar. For someone who doesn't get deep dish in my area, it was a welcome change to my normal pizza experience. We opted for a spinach, basil, onion pizza. It was delicious. If you haven't tried deep dish before, give it a shot. Is it cooked in a cast iron pan and has a thick bread crust that goes all the way up the sides, and the rim is crusted with burnt cheese. The sauce is heavy on the marinara with ample toppings throughout. We also had a tavern style, thin crust pizza with Italian beef and jalapenos, Just as delicious. Service was good. Wait time was about the expected 40 minutes. Parking was a bit of a challenge because there were a lot of people in the area for a Cubs game.

    I have been wanting to try Pequod’s pizza for a few years and simply never had the chance. On a recent trip to the Chicago area I finally made the trip. Honestly, this has to be hands down the best Chicago style pizza I have ever had. The sauce was beautifully seasoned, has a sweet taste to it. The cheese was nice, not too heavy and had a great taste. The toppings were fresh, and excellent quality. Definitely the sausage is house made and was delicious. The crust was the star of the show, not too dense, nice and buttery flavour, and the crispy cheese edge was the icing on the cake. The service was good, ordered over the phone and the pizza was ready right on time. I would definitely recommend you try out Pequod’s Pizza if you are in the area or even outside the area.

The sausage was well seasoned, the pepperoni had just the right crisp, and the veggies were fresh and still had texture. Every slice felt thoughtful and hearty.     Fun little hole in the wall pizza joint. Great atmosphere .. filled with good energy. The place was still popping at 1 AM on a weekday !! We were seated immediately and our server wasn’t far behind. Very present and attentive .. friendly and kind. Good was some of the best I’ve eaten in a long time. Cheesy garlic bread was crispy and soft at the same time. Full of cheesy, garlicky, buttery goodness .. and the dipping sauce was just the right touch. Pizza was a tad overcooked .. however that is how I like it. Fresh toppings. Full flavored sauce. Meatball sub was one of the best sandwiches we have eaten. Ever. Highly recommend this local favorite spot. Great food. Excellent service. Fun vibe.

    Finally got to participate in the Pequods experience. I've wanted to try this top tier pizza joint for several years and it finally happened. Enjoyed this pie while working in the ER. Pizza looked beautiful with burn outer layer from the cast iron pan. The sauce was not overly sweet and had garlic/herb hints in it. They definitely hook it up with the pepperoni with several layers of it. The pepperoni had a good crisp from the oven. Unlike most deep dish pizzas, the crust is described as fluffy and not just a brick of dough that sits heavy the stomach. Best part of the slice is the crust, which had a chewy yet crispy texture. Overall this is the BEST slice I've had in Chicago. Yes we had to use a medical scalpel to cut the pizza because they only cut slices upon request. Try the pan pepperoni pizza and find out for yourself. CHEERS and enjoy !

    The deep dish pizza was amazing! I would definitely try to stick to 3-4 ingredients. We did 5 and it was a little much! The thin crust was really good, however I’m a tavern style pizza person! Environment was really nice. Definitely family friendly. Our server was really nice! The jalapeno poppers were sooooo good! All dressings are homemade and really good! Would definitely come back!

    Wonderful! We had a great time trying Chicago deep dish! The pizza was delicious! I loved the crust and the caramelized cheese. I got a personal size cheese and basil pizza. I was surprised I ate the whole thing! The rest of my group had a sausage and basil deep dish pizza and said it was wonderful. The mozzarella sticks were also very good! The staff were great and very friendly.
